The library has a shelf that highlights the New York Times Best Seller List, fiction and non-fiction. If the library has a copy of the book, the title is highlighted on the list.
But there are other ways patrons can access library materials with their UCPL library card. Following is an example of how to enjoy different aspects of a best-selling book, but keep in mind that this applies to more than just the best-selling or newly-published books.
A book recently on the New York Times Best Seller List is Inheritance by Dani Shapiro. UCPL has this book, as do other Evergreen libraries. Although this book is too new to request from another library, a patron can go to another Evergreen library and check it out in person if the UCPL copy is unavailable and you don’t want to wait to place it on hold.
With your library card, you have access to Overdrive and its app Libby, available for phones and tablets. Both the ebook and audiobook of Inheritance are available to borrow this way.
The New York Times also has a podcast called The Book Review. A recent podcast had an interview with author Dani Shapiro, in which she spoke about the events that led to her writing this book.
If you want more information or have questions about Evergreen, Overdrive, Libby, or any other UCPL resources, please speak with one of our staff.
